May I Have This Dance
showing January 6 – May 17, 2010
at the Charles M. Schulz Museum

December 15, 2009—Santa Rosa, CA.

Long before television’s Dancing with the Stars took the nation by storm, Charles Schulz recognized the nearly universal appeal of dance in his Peanuts comic strip. Who can forget Snoopy’s exuberant suppertime dance, his feel–good–all–over happy dance, his riotous appearance as Peppermint Patty’s date at the “turn–about” dance, or his sublime partnering of a gracefully falling leaf?

Explore dance as expressed by Peanuts characters in the Charles M. Schulz Museum’s newest exhibition, May I Have This Dance, running January 6 through May 17, 2010 and featuring 70 original Peanuts strips.

Nearly every character in Peanuts, from Charlie Brown to Woodstock, has been known to kick up their heels to express their joie de vivre.  Now visitors can vicariously experience the characters’ joys and mishaps of dance in this exhibition.

About the Charles M. Schulz Museum & Research Center
The Charles M. Schulz Museum opened in August 2002 to fulfill its mission of preserving, displaying, and interpreting the art of Charles M. Schulz. The Museum carries out this mission through changing exhibitions and programming that build an understanding of cartoonists and cartoon art; illustrate the scope of Schulz’s multi-faceted career; communicate the stories, inspirations and influences of Charles Schulz; and celebrate the life of Charles Schulz and the Peanuts characters.
