Visitor Comments

The Main Gallery has a seating area for visitors to rest and reflect on their Schulz Museum experience. Visitors are encouraged to record their comments in the provided journals and read the comments of others. Below are some examples of these entries, as well as letters we have received via mail and email.

Kuroda, Snoopy Christmas Tour Picture Journal

In December 2002, a group of Japanese tourists came to Santa Rosa to attend the Ice Arena's annual Christmas Ice Show as part of their "Snoopy Christmas Tour," which included stops in San Francisco, the Schulz Museum, and Minnesota. Mr. and Mrs. Kuroda attended the tour together; this journal was drawn by Tomoko (Mrs. Kuroda).

Special thanks to volunteers Miki Onodera and her son Riku, who translated this page (see below).

Schulz Museum by Tomoko Kuroda

Quiet and nice atmosphere. Not at all commercial and very different from the extremely crowded exhibitions of Snoopy in Japan. Tears in my eyes when I saw the tributes to Sparky from the cartoonists all over the world when he got sick and passed away in the gallery. Many volunteers in yellow vests were all over the museum. A Japanese artist got involved to build the museum. Met a Japanese volunteer Miki, who explained about the museum so eagerly.

To see the Kuroda's entire picture journal, visit Snoopy's Home Ice web site.

We moved to Santa Rosa about three years ago. One of the first—and smartest—things we did, was join the Schulz Museum. In the past few years, we have brought dozens of guests to the Museum and each person has enjoyed it tremendously. Our guests have ranged in age from 18-85, and it is fun to view the Museum through their eyes. We usually plan on spending an hour there... and two hours later,  have to tell them we have other places to visit.

The exhibits are never the same, so it never gets old for us. It will continue to be the "first stop" for each of our visitors for years to come. Thanks to everyone involved with such a wonderful Museum.

Jeannie,
This is the first access I've had to email since our lovely visit to Santa Rosa on Monday. It was great seeing you and the Musuem is truly a fabulous tribute to Sparky and his work. Jim and I enjoyed it tremendously and I'm glad the kids had a chance to see both you and the Museum. They're still talking about it. (And skating, too!) Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to spend time with us.
